FAQ

Questions homeowners ask

How much does solar cost for my home?

Most landed homes fall between RM18,000 and RM55,000, depending on system size, setup and roof. Your exact price comes with the free bill analysis.

What is the SuRIA Home rebate?

A cash rebate from TNB for domestic customers who install rooftop solar under Solar ATAP: RM600 per kWac, up to RM3,000, paid to your bank account. TNB contacts eligible customers by email, in phases, from 1 June 2026. Terms and conditions apply, and we'll check your eligibility during the free bill analysis.

How long is the payback period?

Typically 4 to 7 years, depending on your bill and daytime usage. Your proposal shows your own payback.

Will panels cause roof leaks?

Mounting is sealed and waterproofed for your roof type, and covered by our 3-year workmanship warranty.

Does solar work during a blackout?

Standard grid-tied systems switch off during a TNB outage for safety. Backup power needs a battery.

How much maintenance is needed?

Very little. We recommend cleaning the panels once a year, and you can check output anytime in the monitoring app.

Can I add a battery later?

Yes. A battery (BESS) is optional. Choose a BESS-ready setup now and add storage whenever you are ready.

What is BESS (Battery Energy Storage System)?

A home battery that stores excess solar energy produced during the day, so you can use it at night, during peak hours or as backup during a blackout. It is optional for residential solar.

Why now

Why go solar now in 2026?

Lower electricity bills

TNB bills now combine a higher base tariff with monthly fuel adjustments, and prices are expected to rise. Your own solar power cuts what you buy from the grid.

Future-proof

Solar ATAP brings new offset rules, a 10-year contract and the SuRIA Home rebate of up to RM3,000 for eligible homes.

Built to last

Quality panels and inverters, with 30-year panel, 10-year inverter and 3-year workmanship warranties.

Blackout-proof

Add a battery (BESS) and your home stays powered through sudden outages.
